Minnesota State Fair in the Winter

With all this cold winter weather Minnesota has been having lately (I mean -20 windchill COME ON!), I decided to investigate on what the Minnesota State Fair grounds look like in the winter time.
I took a trip into the Minnesota State Fair Grounds and found some great sights of the fairgrounds in the winter time.

The Minnesota State Fair in the winter is nothing compared to the Minnesota State Fair in the Summer, however, it was still beautiful to be there, in an eerie silence.

I'm Thankful for the Minnesota State Fair

As Thanksgiving is coming up, I can't help but to think of all the things I'm thankful for. And after family, friends and my health, obviously the Minnesota State Fair is at the top of the list! I love the smells, the activities, and the hometown feel of the Minnesota State Fair.

Enjoy your time with your family and friends this Thanksgiving!

Minnesota State Fair Crowd

Even though the State Fair is over, I still think about it all the time. The food, the entertainment, the crowds. After Labor Day, I miss the whole scene. The picture above is a classic one of a huge crowd at the Minnesota State Fair. Do you have any great Minnesota State Fair pictures? Send them to me!

New 2013 MN State Fair Attractions: Arts A'Fair

We all know that Minnesota is known for it's diversity and arts culture. All the different music, theater, and performances all make it such an artistic place to live. So, in celebration of all the great arts in Minnesota, fair guests will be entertained by drumming, dance, theater and music in surprise pop-up showcases throughout the fairgrounds. AH sounds fun! This event will be all throughout the fairgrounds and throughout the entire fair days.

The inaugural Arts A’Fair will feature performances by COLLIDE Theatrical Dance Company, Duniya Drum and Dance Company, Green T Productions, History Theatre, In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre, Live Action Set, Mu Performing Arts, Stages Theatre Company, Summerset Theatre, TigerLion Arts, University of Minnesota Centennial Showboat, and Zorongo Flamenco Dance Theatre & School. You can stop by the Arts A'Fair space in the Education Building if you want to learn more about these groups.

Arts A’Fair is supported by contributions made to the Minnesota State Fair Foundation from individuals and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. Thanks to all who made this fun arts event possible!

2013 New State Fair Attractions: EquiMania™

This blogger can't wait for the fair this summer! One new attraction you have to check out is the EquiMania™!

According to the MN State Fair website, EquiMania™ is a exhibit of full-size skeletons and anatomy models, dental tools, tail-braiding and leg-wrapping activities, an 80-foot-long digestive tract, and stations detailing horse behavior, rider safety, careers and more highlight this free interactive education center for horse enthusiasts of all ages. I know I would have LOVED this when I was a child; so many young children are fascinated by horses at their age. This great exhibit is presented by Equine Guelph, the horse owners' center at the University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada. Thanks, Mr. Guelph!

EquiMania!™ is located in the Horse Barn and is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. Check it out with your Horse Lover this MN State Fair!
